Bretons, Bretons,
I am the Chairman of Yes Breizh.
At the start of a new year, Yes Breizh addresses you with pride, humility and confidence.
As you know, international balances are increasingly fragile, geopolitical tensions are multiplying, and the major powers are redefining their priorities selfishly and often brutally.
Moreover, for many months now, France has found itself in a situation of chronic instability that is damaging to us and has continued to damage our economy, our public services, our farmers, our fishermen, our carers, our teachers and so many families.
Against this uncertain backdrop, Brittany must not accept and resign itself, but must anticipate, assert itself and take action.
Brittany is an ancient land, forged by the winds, the tides and generations of men and women who, for centuries, have chosen solidarity over isolation, courage over renunciation.
We must therefore be able to reverse this negative trend.
Yes Breizh has decided to make a modest but resolute contribution by being neither a party nor a think-tank.
Yes Breizh will continue to work in 2026 to draw up concrete, solid and well-founded proposals on issues that concern us all:
Of course, we will support all those who are working beyond words and simple demands for official recognition of our languages, the return of the Loire Atlantique, and the teaching of our history and culture.
But we will also be working on other issues.
What are they?
They affect our daily lives: housing, health, social justice and purchasing power, safety and the environment.
How will we proceed?
Beyond programmes, postures and decisions from elsewhere, Yes Breizh In January, we are launching a series of discussion groups led by experts in the field, but also by local people who live with and sometimes suffer from these issues.
We will also be looking at the solutions successfully implemented by our neighbours in Scotland, Wales and other countries of similar size and population.
What purpose will these reflections serve?
They will serve to define pragmatic solutions to free Brittany from the constraints preventing it from moving forward and thus to define a serious process of devolution of responsibilities from the central state to Brittany. We are convinced that this process will be useful not only to us, but also to a central state that has become impotent by being responsible for everything from the war in Ukraine to a maternity hospital in a small provincial town.
Bretons, Bretons,
The year ahead will be what we make of it together. Clearly, boldly, and with the sense of community that sets us apart.
Brittany is not a periphery.
Brittany is not a territory.
Brittany is a rising tide.
Bretons, Bretons,
I call on you to show confidence, commitment and determination.
Bloavezh mat d'an holl.
Bevet Breizh
Vive la Bretagne.
