PRESS RELEASE FOR CELTIC NATIONS, THE UK, CANADA
OCTOBER 2026
YES BREIZH
Debating autonomy in Brittany is something we know how to do. Saying what it would change for housing, health, farming or fishing is another matter. With the second edition of its Levrig and a manifesto, Yes Breizh moves from ideas to detailed dossiers.
On Saturday 24 October, at the Carhaix book fair (Salon du livre de Carhaix), Yes Breizh will release a new version of its Levrig (Booklet in Breton), which was a great success in 2025. This enriched new version runs to nearly 80 pages and, in an original approach, uses QR codes to link to 19 technical documents covering 18 societal themes for Brittany.
Like many, Yes Breizh wants to talk about autonomy through debates and discussions, and that is all to the good! But what would it mean, in concrete terms, for Breton women and men? And above all: if Brittany gained autonomy through the devolution of responsibilities and powers by 2032, what would it do, and how?
The new version of the Levrig analyses each public policy and makes precise proposals with objective performance indicators, and does so policy by policy: agriculture, budget, housing, health, energy, sea and coast, digital, education. Each theme is explored in a technical document, accessible in a single tap from a smartphone.
To the knowledge of Yes Breizh, this is the first time such work has been done within the Breton movement.
Alongside it, a shorter manifesto titled ‘Une certaine idée de la Bretagne’ (‘A Certain Idea of Brittany’, with an unabashed nod to General de Gaulle) is a genuine call for a modern, unselfconscious Brittany that holds a future for all its generations.
“When the time comes to negotiate, Brittany must arrive with a complete dossier. Not with a complaint. With a solution.”
Yes Breizh, Une certaine idée de la Bretagne, doctrine to the 2032 horizon
Autonomy of responsibility, not of grievance. Yes Breizh advocates progressive devolution: powers transferred one by one, with the resources, funding and oversight that go with them. A method, texts, figures. Neither left nor right, not a party: a gathering movement, looking towards 2032.
