In a nutshell: Yes Breizh

Yes Breizh is a Breton movement, independent of political parties, working on a simple, modern idea: Brittany must be able to decide what concerns it.

Not against others, but for ourselves, for our future, for public action that is finally adapted to our realities.

We are a citizens' movement, open to all, working to devolve powers and responsibilities to Brittany., as already exists in Wales, Scotland and other European nations.

Why we created Yes Breizh

Yes Breizh was born of a widely shared observation: Too many decisions that are vital for Brittany are taken elsewhere, by institutions that are far removed from our needs.

Health, housing, transport, culture, ecology, the economy... most of the key decisions are taken in Paris, rarely with us.

We created Yes Breizh to open up a new, responsible, democratic and credible way forward. To enable Brittany to regain control.
Without abrupt rupture, without nostalgia, without aggression. With determination.

Our history in brief

Yes Breizh is the fruit of a collective initiative inspired by European devolution initiatives (Yes Cymru, Yes Scotland...).

The movement was built around a simple conviction: Brittany is a modern, capable nation with immense potential, but lacks the political and financial tools to act effectively.

Since its creation, Yes Breizh has grown through the involvement of its members, through its local groups and through the dissemination of a clear and documented discourse on the future of Breton institutions.

How we work

Yes Breizh is a non-profit-making association governed by the 1901 Act, and is totally independent of political parties.

Our operations are based on :

- volunteer coordination,
- an elected board,
- local groups active in every département,
- centres of expertise (communication, analysis, logistics, events, etc.),
- and a Steering Committee - Poellgor Leviañ, responsible for producing rigorous, benchmarked analyses.

We are committed to transparency, pluralism, internal democracy, non-violence and openness.

The Articles of Association, by-laws, ethics charter and manifesto are public.

What Yes Breizh means for you in concrete terms

Devolution is not an abstract concept: it's a way of improving everyday life in Brittany.

Here are a few concrete examples of what deciding here will achieve:

- Health: maintaining maternity units, strengthening local care, organising an appropriate health policy.
- Transport: deciding on the Breton rail network, inter-city links and rural mobility.
- Housing: take action on second homes, seasonal lets, speculation and tight areas.
- Language & culture: develop Breton and Welsh as Scotland has done with Gaelic.
- Economy: supporting SMEs and innovation according to our realities, not according to a uniform Parisian model.
- Environment: protecting our coasts, waters and land with a coherent territorial strategy.

It's not a break-up, nor a fantasy: it's what the Welsh, the Scots, the Faroese, the Catalans, the Bavarians are already experiencing...

"Yes, the Yes Breizh movement can be a good vehicle for bringing together the vital forces of Brittany and becoming a force for proposals"."

Our values and principles

Yes Breizh is based on five simple pillars:

- Independence: we are not run by any party.
- Pluralism: all democratic sensibilities are welcome.
- Non-violence: an absolute red line.
- Direct democracy: the citizens have their say.
- Transparency: finances, decisions, organisation.

We are not promising a perfect world. We promise a serious, responsible movement that believes Brittany deserves better than dependence and powerlessness.

Why we need you

Yes Breizh is a citizens' movement: without you, nothing can move forward.

Each person who joins us strengthens :

- our credibility,
- our capacity for local action,
- our collective power,
- our visibility,
- disseminating a responsible Breton message.

Brittany will change through you, through us, together, not through distant political apparatuses.

Autonomy always begins with an individual decision to act.
