Some people regret that we did not choose Ya Breizh - Oui Bretagne“ in Breton - rather than Yes Breizh. But our choice is neither a coincidence nor a rejection of the Breton language: it is natural, coherent and fully assumed.
First of all, “Yes” is universal. It's a word that everyone understands, conveying confidence, energy and support. It allows us to speak to the world without language barriers, from Brittany to Scotland, from Wales to Cornwall, and to the rest of the world.
The next step, Yes Breizh is part of an international family. Our Welsh friends have Yes Cymru, the Scots Yes Scotland, Cornish people Yes Kernow. We share the same democratic objectives, the same values and now the same visual identity. So our name is not the result of any strategic or philosophical thinking: it flows naturally from this partnership and is part of the common brand of Yes movements across the Celtic world.
Finally, this choice reflects a clear conviction: if Brittany is to progress, it must exist in the concert of nations, Yes Breizh is Brittany saying yes to the world, and the world learning to say yes to Brittany. Yes Breizh is Brittany saying yes to the world, and the world learning to say yes to Brittany.
